Yes, and that’s how this tour is built. You explore the lower royal water gardens at ground level with full historical interpretation from your guide, and the rock itself is the backdrop. Nobody is expected to attempt the stairways.
Mostly, but some paths are uneven and a few surfaces are old stone. We choose the exact route on the day based on your mobility and, if you use one, your wheelchair type.
It’s the longest day at roughly six hours with breaks. We use a vehicle with proper legroom, schedule several comfort and restroom stops, and keep the afternoon in Galle completely free for rest.
As little as you want. Much of the fort can be seen from the vehicle, and we then pick one manageable level section on foot. The paving is historic and there are kerbs, so the route is chosen for you rather than fixed.
