The east and the south. You get Koneswaram Temple on Swami Rock, the Shankari Devi tradition and Kanniya Hot Springs at Trincomalee, plus Kataragama and Rumassala — none of which the short itinerary reaches.
No. Sigiriya is about 1,200 steps and Dambulla 350–400; both are optional. There’s a ground-level alternative at Sigiriya through the royal water gardens, and senior pilgrims regularly skip both.
Not at all. The springs can be busy and the facilities are basic. Many pilgrims visit, observe and move on.
One of the island’s most important pilgrimage centres, worshipped by Hindus, Buddhists and indigenous communities alike. The evening pooja is the point of going. It gets very crowded at weekends and during festivals, so we time the visit carefully.
Either — it depends on your departure time and preference, and we confirm it at booking. Finishing in Colombo shortens the final morning; finishing in Galle gives you the fort at a gentler pace.
