Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the price?

This is an all-inclusive private eco-adventure — airport transfers, a private air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking chauffeur guide, accommodation with daily breakfast and listed meals, entrance tickets to all attractions, all mentioned activity costs, the guided Pekoe Trail hike, UNESCO-site guides, daily water, and government taxes. White-water rafting, snorkelling, and other optional excursions are extra.

How fit do I need to be?

This is an active tour. Expect a guided Riverston trek, the 10.8 km Pekoe Trail Stage 22 (about 3 hours, moderate), and a Sinharaja rainforest hike, plus the Sigiriya climb. It suits reasonably fit, active travellers who enjoy walking. Trails can be adjusted where possible — let us know your comfort level.

What is the Pekoe Trail?

The Pekoe Trail is a celebrated long-distance hiking route through Sri Lanka’s tea country. You’ll hike Stage 22 (Kandapola to Pedro Estate) with a guide — 10.8 km of tea estates and mountain scenery, taking around 3 hours.

Is white-water rafting included?

No — rafting on the Kelani River at Kitulgala is an optional add-on with its own charge. It’s a fun extra for thrill-seekers and easily arranged on the day.

What kind of accommodation does this tour use?

It features eco-lodges and nature retreats chosen for their settings — lakeside, mountain, and rainforest properties — for an immersive, low-impact experience. Comfort levels vary by location; upgrades can be discussed where available.

Is the Vedda cultural experience authentic?

Yes — you’ll visit the indigenous Vedda community in Dambana for a genuine cultural interaction, including traditional dancing and a demonstration of their forest lifestyle.

What's the best time of year for this tour?

It works across several climate zones year-round. The southwest (Sinharaja, Hikkaduwa) is at its best from roughly November to April; rainforests can see rain in any season, which is part of their magic.
